This feature is called Autopilot, and it can make it much easier for users who are unfamiliar with image editing. Topaz Photo AI allows you to just drop your photos all at once, and it will analyze them to figure out how they can each be best enhanced. The best way to flatten a learning curve is to do away with it altogether.Load your images and let the app decide what to do It uses AI models to help you upscale, sharpen, and denoise your photos, and it’s able to do everything automatically, while still allowing you to make adjustments when necessary. ![]() Topaz Photo AI is one of many applications designed to make image enhancement and correction accessible to everyone. However, if you’re not particularly adept with this kind of software, you’re going to be at a clear disadvantage. On the next page we will take a look at some of the practical aspects of using Gigapixel. For photographers, images editors are pretty much essential nowadays if you want to get the most out of your photos. There are two additional setting buttons in which you can reduce colour bleed and opt for face refinement, and that’s it a deceptively simple controls set for some very powerful processing power. Next you have the 'AI Model' which includes:Īfter that you have a button setting for Auto, with sliders to allow you to choose how much noise suppressing you want and how much blur to remove. Then you have the 'Resizing' module below the 'View' modes, which has choices for: Original: to A/B between the processed and original images.Zoom: anywhere from zoom to fit, up to 400% visual enlargement. ![]() You can specify the parameters for the enlargement either as a scale of the original image, or a specific print width/height.Ĭlick on any screenshot on this page to enlarge.Īt the top of the window you are also presented with the 'View' dialogue box, which has: The image is previewed to the right of the control panel, with the option to save the result (via the button below the control panel) once you are happy with it. On the left side of the application window, you will see the control panel, which shows the primary processing and output settings. It's apparent simplicity belies the fact that this is one serious, professional piece of software. The Gigapixel interface itself is clean and straightforward, but what it does to your images is both astonishing and sophisticated. The standalone version 6.0 was used for this review. The softweare is available as plugin versions for the major photo editing suites (most notably, Photoshop and Lightroom), as well as in a standalone version. Gigapixel supports Windows and Mac, including Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11, and Mac OS 10.14 and above. It worked flawlessly, but it was funny that the whole thing was based on kilobytes, and you could see the numbers flying upwards at the speed of light, as the program itself was several gigabytes in size (4Gb of free disk space is required for installation). The initial download of Gigapixel went smoothly, and when I clicked install I was very surprised to see a very old-fashioned installer program that harkened back to 20+ years ago.
